Comment: Microsoft, Amazon hope biometric privacy arguments in US court will fare better than Facebook's

Microsoft and Amazon have asked a US judge in Seattle to rule them blameless under an Illinois privacy law for downloading a biometric database of roughly 1 million faces, arguing that because they did no facial-recognition processing within Illinois, they aren’t liable under that state law.
