Comment: Japanese multinationals urged to take privacy measures beyond domestic law requirements

Despite Japan’s progress to strengthen data protection rules at home, Japanese multinational companies are being urged to take stricter safeguards than those required by the domestic law, to keep up with more stringent privacy rules and enforcements in the European Union, California, China and beyond.
