Comment: Japan's data-protection rulemaking shifts from cookie regulations to content moderation

Japan’s cookie regulations advanced in 2022, as the amended privacy law took effect in April and the telecoms law was amended in June to expand its scope to require a broader range of online-services providers to give cookie notices to users.
