Comment: EU privacy watchdogs face new fight for resources as extra duties loom

Data protection authorities across Europe have no lack of incentive to push hard in their next budget discussions. 

Not only will upcoming EU artificial intelligence rules likely lumber them with additional oversight tasks, but EU-level talks on cooperation under the Law Enforcement Directive will also prompt questions over regulators’ resources to engage effectively.
