The pandemic-shadowed, five-year odyssey that Yevgeniy Aleksandrovich Nikulin — aka Chinabig01 — traveled through the US legal system ended today when a federal appeals court vacated a $1.7 million restitution Nikulin was ordered to pay for hacking LinkedIn and Dropbox.

The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed, however, an 88-month prison sentence
