Brazil prosecutors to probe Google Plus data breach

Google’s recently disclosed Google Plus data breach will be investigated by Brazilian prosecutors in the Federal District, according to a document seen by MLex.
The probe targeting the tech giant was launched today, MLex has learned.
Prosecutors want to determine how many Brazilians were affected by the hacking incident that exposed around 500,000 Google Plus accounts.
The Brazilian investigation into the data breach is being led by Federal District prosecutor Frederico Meinberg Ceroy.
Alphabet, Google, and Google Brasil Internet are mentioned as interested parties in the document opening the probe. Google's Brazil unit will be notified about the investigation.
