US Commodity Futures Trading Commission chief Heath Tarbert is “open" to changing a 2016 US-EU equivalence agreement if asked by European officials in ongoing talks about post-Brexit oversight of US derivatives clearinghouses.
“I’m not necessarily bound by the past,” Tarbert, who became CFTC chairman in July, said in an interview last week. “It was negotiated two chairmen ago.”
