The US Securities and Exchange Commission may not lengthen temporary 2018 relief from EU analyst research rules because of US market adaptations to the standards, Chairman Jay Clayton said.
“It is our understanding that some market solutions have developed that may make extending the no-action relief unnecessary,” Clayton said at an SEC advisory panel meeting today.
Some US banks and brokers have been asking the SEC to make the relief permanent.
