Fintech’s impact on financial stability needs tracking with better data, Deutsche Bundesbank’s Buch says

Claudia Buch, vice president of the Deutsche Bundesbank, said authorities around the world have only “patchy” information about digital financial services and their potential impact on the banking sector and financial stability.

A recent survey by the Irving Fisher Committee, a global authority, found a lack of statistical infrastructure worldwide to assess the risks, vulnerabilities and resilience of financial technology firms and possible “BigTech” entrants, she said.
