​Cross-border swaps trading guidance once pushed by Gensler should be codified, CFTC staffer says

The Republican-led US Commodity Futures Trading Commission will consider a staff recommendation to codify 2013 cross-border derivatives trading guidance adopted under then-Chairman Gary Gensler, a Democrat.

Joshua Sterling, a senior CFTC staffer, said his unit would urge this year that the non-binding guidance criticized at the time by industry, Republican officials and foreign regulators be upgraded to rule requirements.
