MLex leadership recommits to business post-acquisition

4 January 2018

The three MLex directors who have driven the newswire’s success over the past decade have renewed their commitment to the business two and a half years since joining forces with LexisNexis. Robert McLeod, Duncan Lumsden and Lewis Crofts have signed up to early contract extensions, to continue to lead the company’s growth. Alongside this commitment, and reflecting the regulatory newswire’s expansion over recent years, the leadership team is also taking the opportunity to strengthen MLex’s management structure.

Robert McLeod, formerly Editor-in-Chief and Chief Executive, will be taking up the role of chairman of MLex, with a specific remit to explore new business opportunities for the board to consider, work and engage with new and existing clients, and provide support as required to the board.

Bruce Macfarlane, who joined the company in 2011 as Chief Operating Officer, will take over as Managing Director, overseeing the business as a whole.  Bruce has extensive experience leading large businesses on an international scale at Dow Jones and Factiva.  “I am excited about seeing MLex thrive and mature as a business under Bruce’s leadership,” said McLeod.

Lewis Crofts, who has been at the heart of MLex’s journalistic excellence since joining in 2006 will take over as Editor-in-Chief with responsibility for content direction, quality and development.

Duncan Lumsden retains responsibility as Global Managing Editor, delivering editorial excellence and ensuring MLex services get to the right people, in the right time.

Other senior leadership roles remain unchanged, with Scott Walker as Chief Revenue Officer, Kate Boulton as Chief Financial Officer, and Leanne Battle as Global Liaison Officer.
